Banana Republic has capitalized on the Mad Men TV series, and its marketing power, to create new men’s and women’s lines. Janie Bryant, Mad Men’s costume designer, helped BR to understand the clothing of the period, and, of course, what made them sexy.

Banana Republic Creative Director Simon Kneen said, “working with Janie to gain a true understanding of the Mad Men look and feel was a delight. Janie was instrumental in helping us achieve the series aesthetic and standard of authenticity with this capsule collection.”

Banana Republic’s Mad Men collections feature highly tailored outfits, dresses and suits, in traditional colors, such as gray and navy. The look is sexy and sophisticated; a little dressy, but highly wearable.
