There are so many unique and creative places to shop for antiques and magical finds on the North Fork of Long Island. From Riverhead to Greenport, each little village has its own charm and personality!
First up is Junque in Riverhead LI where you can find some great midcentury modern lamps…right next door is Timeless Treasures with fun selections of vintage clothing and some smaller tabletop items! Next up Small Holdings Farm where you can humt for antique furniture, fun outdoor accessories and 100 year old beach glass in vintage jars. Last up in Jamesport, Material Objets where you can find a variety of unique and interesting treasures and be sure to visit their newest location on Sound Ave called Lumber and Salt!
One cannot shop on an empty stomach so may I suggest stopping at BRIERMERE FARMS for the most delicious pies…..baking since 1959 located in Riverhead LI. Try the apple crisp…..it’s a family favorite!
An added plus is that the North Fork is beautiful every season. Spring when all the flowers are blooming, summer when the fruits and veggies are ripe for picking, fall when the grapes are harvested and the farms are roasting freshly picked LI corn and in winter when it turns into a winter wonderland!
This past weekend I happened to stumble upon what I call “A Treasure Chest of Goodies” at the Small Holdings Farm in Aquebogue, NY. For all us designers out there, it is getting harder and harder to find great antiques and “barn finds” that are affordable and allow us the opportunity to be used for our DIY projects.
The Small Holdings Farm is home to a large barn filled with many trinkets, furniture and rustic finds outside on the perimeter of the property. If you like to repaint, reclaim or just repurpose, I would highly suggest paying the Small Holdings Farm a visit!
They specialize in farmhouse decor, painted furniture, country cottage, industrial, reclaimed and renamed items. It is truly one of North Fork’s best kept secrets on Long Island NY. They are located in Aquebogue at 965 Main Street and their number is 631-722-3342. Winter hours are Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. -Enjoy Treasure Hunting!
Everyone needs an ottoman or stool. It’s a very useful accessory for the home. I found some ottomans/ stools on Etsy and at WorldMarket pictured below.
Next Step is to find the PRINT & PATTERN
You can purchase designs on our online gallery at Design Works International and then have it printed digitally at First2Print, our sister company. They have a variety of fabrics you can choose from. You can also have your own custom design printed at First2Print.
